Angelita Mendoza - Director

Angelita Mendoza is an award-winning, Mexican-American film director based in New York City and raised in San Diego, CA. Her passion for film started at her father’s video stores when she was a child. Angelita’s films have screened at HollyShorts, New York Film Festival, and San Diego Latino Film Festival, among others.

The Blue Drum is be Angelita’s 5th short film as a narrative director. Here previous films include The Darkest Black, The Last Light, You Deserve It, and Great America.

Alicia Herder - Producer

Hailing from the Midwest, Alicia Herder focuses on stories that intersect gender and violence, especially in regards to women. Alicia produced, La Leyenda Negra, which premiered at Sundance (2019) and is new streaming on HBO Max.

Victor Capiz - Cinematographer

Born and raised in Tijuana Mexico, Victor Capiz is a photographer and cinematographer from indigenous Purepecha descent. After finishing his degree in Graphic Design he relocated to New York where he got his start photographing and recording live music events for Remezcla (online magazine). After turning his attention to narrative drama, his collaboration with long time partner and filmmaker, director Angelita Mendoza's short film Great America earned him a cinematography award in the festival circuit. The duo have shot several short films, music videos and commercials and are currently in development of a feature length film under their production venture VidiVici Films.
